Description
Woman Holding a Balance (1665) by Jan Vermeer – Handmade Oil Painting Reproduction
Woman Holding a Balance, painted by Jan Vermeer in 1665, is one of his most profound and symbolic masterpieces of the Dutch Golden Age.
The painting portrays a woman standing beside a wooden table, gently holding a balance scale. On the table lie pearls, gold chains and a jewel chest. Behind her hangs a large painting of the Last Judgment, creating a powerful contrast between earthly treasures and eternal judgement. Vermeer uses soft, directional light to draw focus to the woman and the delicate scale, building a calm, meditative atmosphere.
Our reproduction is 100% hand-painted on canvas by professional artists, NOT a printed poster. Every brushstroke faithfully replicates the original’s deep shadows, luxurious fabric textures, subtle skin tones and the symbolic quiet mood of Vermeer’s celebrated work.
