Description
The Geographer by Johannes Vermeer | Hand Painted Oil Painting Reproduction
Own a museum-quality hand painted oil painting reproduction of The Geographer, one of the most celebrated masterpieces by Johannes Vermeer, the iconic painter of the Dutch Golden Age.
Completed around 1668–1669, this famous Vermeer artwork captures a scholar lost in contemplation. Holding measuring dividers, the geographer leans over maps spread across a rich tapestry-covered table. A terrestrial globe, antique books, and soft natural window light fill the quiet study room. Vermeer’s legendary mastery of light, subtle color gradation and intimate interior scenes fully shines in this timeless work. It is the companion painting to his The Astronomer, and now resides in Städel Museum, Frankfurt.
Our artists hand-paint every brushstroke on premium canvas, not a printed poster. We faithfully recreate Vermeer’s delicate lighting, rich fabric textures and muted colour palette. Each reproduction retains the calm intellectual atmosphere of the original 17th-century Dutch painting.
