Description

Portrait and a Dream, 1953 – Hand Painted Oil Painting Reproduction by Jackson Pollock

Elevate your wall decor with our hand-painted canvas reproduction of Jackson Pollock’s Portrait and a Dream, 1953, a powerful horizontal masterpiece of abstract expressionism.

This horizontal work contrasts two distinct sections on a pale aged canvas base. On the right sits a vivid, fragmented portrait built with bold blocks of orange, yellow, deep grey and black, defined by energetic scribbled outlines. The left side is filled with tangled black ink-like splatters, looping sketch lines and organic blotches, representing the dream realm. Unlike Pollock’s fully abstract all-over drip canvases, this piece merges figurative portraiture with chaotic automatic drawing, capturing the raw, spontaneous physical energy of action painting.

Our skilled artists recreate this artwork 100% by hand on linen canvas. This is NOT a machine print. Every paint splash, hand-drawn line and colour transition is carefully hand-painted to preserve the original’s striking contrast, layered details and expressive texture.

This wide horizontal abstract painting is ideal for living room feature walls, spacious contemporary offices, art galleries and boutique hotel lounge spaces. It is a standout art gift for Pollock collectors and admirers of mid-century abstract expressionist art.
